How To Use

Ancient Wellness Roots

Traditional Scalp Gua Sha Rituals

With roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Gua Sha Brushing has long been used to support tension relief, circulation and hair vitality - particularly during postpartum recovery and age-related thinning.

Primary Focus

Scalp Gua Sha focuses on deliberate, targeted stimulation. In traditional practice, brushing was believed to engage meridian pathways associated with tension release.

The reflexology needles create rhythmic activation across the scalp and fascia, stimulating acupressure points and supporting circulation with consistent use. Over time, this helps encourage scalp vitality as part of a long-term care routine.

Wellness Practice: For wellness and self-care purposes only and not medical advice. Not a medical device. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Artisan-Made

Made from solid American walnutwood, and hand carved in our artisans’ traditional brush silhouette. Ergonomically weighted, the natural timber hand-feel offers warmth, balance and comfort during use.

Each brush features traditional, genuine 24K gold-plated Gua Sha needles, pinned by hand in Taiwan, preserving traditional techniques refined over generations.

24K Gold Plated Needles

As a mark of authenticity, the 24K gold plating will naturally fade over time, revealing the steel beneath without affecting performance.

Gold is a softer metal, and gradual changes in appearance are expected with consistent use. This does not affect the performance, durability or quality of the brush.

Pressure

This brush delivers a firm level of stimulation, designed for those who enjoy deeper, more noticeable scalp activation.

The full-length, 24K gold-plated reflexology needles are polished with curved tips to provide balanced, consistent pressure to help release scalp tension and encourage relaxation. Within our range, the Large Infrared & Walnutwood edition offers the deepest, most traditional experience.

Patented Natural Infrared Design

Our Infrared Edition is patented for its Infrared properties, which help enhance scalp stimulation during brushing. Clinically proven to gently warm the scalp by around 1.8°C through natural infrared emissions.*

How It Works
Our patented, ion-active brush naturally emits infrared properties that can gently warm, while your brushing movement releases short span anions, boosting scalp circulation and easing tension.

Reviews

Beautiful, with limitations

"The brush is undeniably well made and the massage feels good when I use very light pressure. However, the high price and no-rinsing care instructions make it less convenient than expected. I like it, but I am not sure it represents the best value for everyone."

Rebecca O. (3/5)

Luxurious, but expensive

"I love the weight, finish and scalp sensation. It feels far more substantial than my regular brushes. I removed one star because the price makes it difficult to recommend without qualification, even though the quality is apparent."

Carmen D. (4/5)

In love

"This brush is incredible! Everyone is commenting it’s missing the pin…it’s the airhole, virtually all brushes have them. I’m in love and my husband loves this as well!! I’m debating on ordering the small version for my travel bag and then I wonder if I’m being extra just cause I love this thing so much ❤️🙌"

Cay L. (5/5)

So much nicer in person

"The walnut grain on mine is beautiful and gives each brush a slightly individual character. It feels balanced in my hand, and the rounded tips provide strong stimulation without feeling scratchy when I use light pressure."

Lucia M. (5/5)

A proper scalp massage

"I have tried several scalp brushes, but most barely make contact through my hair. This one provides noticeably deeper pressure. Five minutes before bed leaves my scalp feeling relaxed without turning the routine into a chore."

Claire B. (5/5)

Mixed feelings about the value

"The brush itself is attractive and provides a satisfying massage. Still, at this price I expected the experience to feel more transformative. I also find the careful cleaning routine inconvenient, although I understand why the wood should not be soaked."

Isabel T. (3/5)

Great quality, careful cleaning

"The massage itself is excellent and the wood is beautiful. My only hesitation is the cleaning process, as I would normally rinse a brush under water. Following the care instructions requires a little more attention."

Rachel T. (4/5)

Gisela P. (5/5)

A solid, thoughtful design

"I bought this after my partner recommended scalp massage. The brush is well balanced and the pins provide consistent contact without needing much pressure. It has become an easy addition to my morning routine."

Daniel R. (5/5)

Un vrai moment de détente

"La brosse est ferme, mais la sensation devient très agréable avec une pression légère. Le bois est superbe et l’ensemble paraît vraiment artisanal. Je l’utilise le soir pour prendre quelques minutes au calme."

Q&A

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to notice results?

Individual experiences vary. Many users notice improvements in scalp comfort and overall hair appearance within the first few months of consistent use.

This Gua Sha brush is designed to support scalp stimulation and circulation as part of a regular routine. For best long-term results, use daily and pair with our Tetrapeptide Hair & Scalp Serum.

Is this brush suitable for beginners?

This is our firmest Gua Sha brush with a firm level of scalp stimulation, and is best suited to users who are comfortable with noticeable scalp stimulation or who plan to use it regularly as part of a ritual.

If you are new to scalp reflexology tools or prefer a gentler sensation, one of our lighter brushes may be more suitable. To find your ideal brush, take our personalized Gua Sha Brush Quiz.

Can I use this brush every day?

Yes. This brush is designed for daily use, and regular, consistent brushing is encouraged. Most users find 5–10 minutes per session sufficient.

Use gentle, even pressure and slow strokes. Longer or more forceful sessions do not necessarily lead to better results and may cause scalp sensitivity.

Daily use supports the best results over time, and the ongoing scalp stimulation helps to establish a steady ritual rather than occasional or intensive sessions.

How firm is the stimulation compared to your other brushes?

The Large Infrared & Walnutwood edition provides a traditional, firm level of stimulation with deeper, more deliberate pressure than our other gua sha brushes.

It is designed for users who enjoy a grounding sensation and want a more substantial scalp massage experience.

Can this brush be used on curly, coily or textured hair?

Yes. The longer needles are designed to reach the scalp more easily through thicker, curly or textured hair. When used correctly, the brush should not pull hair.

For added comfort and smoother glide—especially with dense or textured hair, we recommend applying the Tetrapeptide Hair & Scalp Serum first and begin with light pressure and slow, controlled strokes to avoid tugging.

Can I use a hair or scalp serum with this brush?

Yes. Many users apply a lightweight scalp serum before brushing to improve glide and comfort.

Our Tetrapeptide Hair & Scalp Serum is designed to absorb quickly and complement regular brush use without weighing the hair down.

Why is there a small hole in the middle of the brush?

The small hole in the rubber cushion is an intentional airflow pinhole, not a missing needle.

It allows air to move through the cushion so the rubber can maintain elasticity and even pressure during use. This pinhole is created by hand as part of traditional brushmaking techniques.

Why is this brush more expensive than the others?

Every component of this brush is handcrafted by traditional brushmakers using techniques refined over generations.

This brush is carved from a single piece of beech timber, shaped and finished by hand rather than assembled from multiple components.

Because each handle must be individually carved, balanced, and finished from one piece of timber, the process is time-intensive and limits how many brushes can be made. This approach prioritises weight, ergonomics and durability, but it also naturally caps total production capacity.

These constraints, combined with careful material selection and traditional methods, define the Large Infrared & Walnutwood edition and are the reason it is produced in smaller quantities and priced accordingly.
